Our image standards

CurrentLore may use original photography or graphics, licensed editorial photography, press and publicity assets, Creative Commons or public-domain material, authorized media-kit images, official embeds, and limited third-party material where lawful and editorially justified.

We do not treat an image as free to use simply because it appears in Google Images, on Pinterest, on a fan account or on another news website.

Press and publicity assets

Studio, platform, museum, publicist and creator press materials are used in accordance with the terms attached to those materials. Where a press asset has credit, territory, duration or contextual restrictions, those restrictions should be recorded and followed.

Creative Commons and public-domain material

When using Creative Commons material, CurrentLore follows the license terms applicable to the individual file, including attribution, link-back or share-alike requirements where relevant. We do not assume that everything hosted by a collaborative archive is automatically unrestricted.

Screenshots and excerpts

Screenshots, still frames, quotations and other excerpts may sometimes be used for reporting, criticism, commentary or explanation. Their use is evaluated case by case. We avoid using third-party material merely as decoration when an appropriately licensed alternative is available.

Credits

Credits are displayed when required by a license, source or professional convention. A credit is not a substitute for permission or a license.

Rights concerns

If you believe material on CurrentLore infringes your copyright or other rights, email contact@currentlore.com with the subject line “Rights Request.” Include the page URL, a description of the material, the basis of your claim, your contact details and, where relevant, evidence that you control the rights at issue. We will review good-faith requests and may temporarily restrict material while a claim is assessed.
