Author & Contributor Standards

A CurrentLore byline is a statement of responsibility, not a decorative label.

Bylines

Articles should identify the human author responsible for the finished work. Author pages should, where practical, include a biography, coverage areas and a list of recent work so readers can understand who is behind the reporting.

Contributor responsibilities

Writers are expected to verify key claims, document important sources, avoid plagiarism, disclose relevant conflicts, preserve quotation accuracy, respect image rights, and respond in good faith when a correction is required.

Expertise and experience

CurrentLore does not require every writer to be a celebrity insider or academic specialist. It does require writers to demonstrate subject familiarity, careful research and transparent sourcing. Where specialist expertise is material to a story, we seek qualified sources or make the limits of our expertise clear.

Attribution

If another publication breaks a story or produces original reporting that materially supports our article, we should credit that work rather than presenting it as our own discovery.

Freelancers and guest contributors

Freelancers and guest contributors are expected to follow the same accuracy, sourcing, rights and conflicts standards as regular contributors. Commercial guest posts that exist primarily to influence search rankings or disguise advertising as independent editorial content are not accepted as ordinary journalism.
