Dutton Ranch Season 2 is officially happening on Paramount+. The renewal was announced June 24, 2026. There is currently no confirmed Season 2 premiere date. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are expected back as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, and Benjamin Cavell is taking over as showrunner.

Dutton Ranch did not have to wait long for a second season.

Paramount+ officially renewed the Yellowstone sequel on June 24, just over a month after its May 15 premiere. The decision followed a huge launch: Paramount said the series reached 12.9 million viewers worldwide in the seven days after its debut, the biggest original-series launch in Paramount+ history.

The series keeps two of Yellowstone's most recognizable characters at the center of the story, with Kelly Reilly returning as Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler as the couple attempts to build a new life in South Texas.

So when does Season 2 actually come out?

That is the part Paramount has not revealed.

As of August 31, 2026, Paramount+ lists the Season 2 premiere date as TBA. The company has confirmed that the new season is in development, but it has not published a release day, month or even an official release year.

A report published by Decider on August 30 says production is expected to begin in early 2027, with writing already underway. If that production timetable holds, a 2027 premiere would be possible, but that remains an estimate rather than an announced Paramount+ date.

What else has changed for Season 2?

The biggest confirmed behind-the-scenes change is at the top. Paramount+ says Benjamin Cavell, whose credits include The Stand, will lead Season 2 as showrunner.

Reilly and Hauser remain the faces of the series. Season 1 also featured Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris and Annette Bening. Paramount has not yet published a complete Season 2 cast announcement, so any additional returns should be treated as unconfirmed until formally announced.

That record launch gives Paramount little reason to rush an unfinished second season. For viewers, the useful takeaway is simple: Dutton Ranch Season 2 is not a rumor or a hopeful possibility - it is officially ordered. The only major piece Paramount is still withholding is the date.
